Welcome to a world of creativity with artist Michael Taylor

Explore unique artworks blending traditional painting and contemporary mixed media techniques to celebrate architectural forms and nature

"Art is not what you see, but what you make others see." - Edgar Degas

Michael's love for Art started at an early age, often 'doodling' pictures whilst at school where he won a prize for recreating the album cover for one of his favourite singers - Meat Loaf. Later, during his career in the Merchant Navy he would while-away the hours at sea sketching landscape subjects, often taking a week to finish the drawing.

Nowadays, although still maintaining a full time job, he manages to regularly produce artworks using a variety of mediums. He specializes in visually capturing the spirit of architectural and landscape subjects, creating expressive traditional paintings as well as mixed media & digital artwork, to produce dynamic and evocative pieces that will enliven any home or workspace.

Besides his 'Traditional' artwork, Michael also enjoys creating his sketchy, more 'quirky' art which captures a more light-hearted approach to architectural and landscape subjects which he finds on his many walks around Yorkshire, the Peak district & Lake district.
